Dodger reporter Alanna Rizzo announced she is stepping away from her coverage at SportsNet LA.
In a message on social media, Rizzo thanked those around her at the Dodgers as well as Dodger fans for their support.
“For the first time ever, I’m putting my personal life above my professional one,” she wrote. “I am not retiring. I am moving on to another chapter that allows me to be nearest to the ones I love most.”
Rizzo spent seven seasons on the Dodger broadcast team, where she served as SportsNet LA’s in-game reporter and hosted the pre-and post-game shows. She is a six-time regional Emmy Award winner and a nationally recognized television sports journalist, reporter and studio host. Rizzo was honored by the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association as the top sports television reporter in Los Angeles in 2019.
“The past seven years with the Dodgers have been nothing short of magical,” Rizzo wrote.
Rizzo has covered professional and collegiate sports for more than 15 years. Before coming to Los Angeles, Rizzo was seen on MLB Network, where she appeared across all of the network’s studio programming. Previously, Rizzo was with ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain in Denver working as a sideline reporter and host for the Colorado Rockies, University of Colorado and University of Denver broadcasts. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Off the field, Rizzo founded the non-profit Guidry’s Guardian Foundation in 2019 to make a difference for dogs in need and help reduce the number of dogs on the streets and in shelters.
“Alanna is one of the best in the business and the Dodgers thank her for her dedication and hard work over seven seasons, which included the launch of SNLA, traveling with the team to Australia and Mexico and covering three World Series,” Dodgers Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Lon Rosen said in a statement. “Alanna was a source of news, insight and friendship for so many in the Dodger family, bringing to life behind the scenes stories, consoling us after heartbreaking losses and helping to celebrate a world championship — a fitting finale to her tenure. We will miss her, and send our best wishes for the next chapter of her life and career.”
